And how long did you wait for another slot? Any tips of how to get rid of a cold? Thanks

Put Vicks on your feet and wear socks, or even better raw onion (no I'm not on painkillers). Lol . Slap Vicks on your chest to. Sure you be fine by Thursday and good luck xx

Depends if cold is in head or has gone to chest.Perhaps your GP could check you over and give opinion on whether or not you are fit? They may be reluctant if it is in chest ?Vick really does work as Sheri says!I saw it online and thought it crazy but putting Vic on soles of feet ,socks then a warm bed works wonders for a cough.

Take lots and lots of vitamin C - make smoothies or take supplements. You can get zinc and vitamin C lozenges at chemist -supposed to help a cold.

I do hope it all goes ahead. Such a pain when you are all organised. How long have you been waiting for surgery?

Due to a bad coldI had to put my hysterectomy on hold for 2weeks on hospital advice. At the time I was very upset as I'd prepared and stressed over it. However after finally having abdominal hysterectomy 5 weeks ago I'm so glad I did. Coughing and sneezing was incredibly painful for the first few weeks. You may find they won't operate on you with a cold.

Good luck :-)

Thanks for your advice. I don't have a cough just a stuffy nose. Am going to give it till wednesday morning and then ring in and see what they say.I am feeling better than I did last night so might be much better by then. Fingers crossed xx

That sounds wise. I'm sure you'll be fine. Don't worry its over before you know it.

I can't believe mine was 5 weeks ago! Make sure you rest well afterwards... its not easy, but is important. Good luck x

When I went for my lap couple of weeks ago the nurse went through usual medical paperwork and asked me if I had any cold symptoms or a sore throat I didn't have but they did ask. They will take your temp anyway. I hope you are better for Thursday and all goes well for you.
