Help. Chest and back tightening pain. Dont know what to do?
Zoladex can drastically increase blood pressure leading to heart papitations and panic attacks - what you are describing sounds like the panic attacks i got with the drug - having had them previously without that drug - i did recognise them.
you should have a word with your GP about the hypertension - it may pass in a few days. If you have the equipment to check your own BP then do so and you will probably find it up from normal.
Try an remain calm and relaxed as you possible can consciously manage, do not take anything food or drink wise that can make the situation worse, you need to calm it down. Stay away from caffeine, red bull and other such drinks.
I am sure you have some understanding of how to tackle hypertension - and it may be that your GP can give you beta blockers if it continues - but in my experence these phases came and went over days with zoladex.
not helped by all the stress of lack of sleep, and weird side effects hitting you in every direction. If you do feel it getting out of control and you cannot contact your GP then get taken to A&E and they can check you out.
It is a listed side effect of the drug - the result of the hypertenson as wel as causing panic attacks which tighten the chest area, it can also cause pressure pains in veins and muscles -usually in the legs but elsewhere too. It's a really strange sensation and not a comfy one either - pain killers with a muscle relaxant element like naproxen or voltarol can help a bit too.
Please don't panic or worry, though it is very easy to get that way when you are undergoing a panic attack making things worse for yourself. It is a genuine physical response to hypertension - not just psychological thing in the head as many think it is.
Thank you again. Raised blood pressure may explain the nosebleed. X
It sure would.
