Stabbing pain?

Due for a laparoscopy next week, but the stabbing pain in my sides is getting worse. Was diagnosed with endo three years ago and only had one laparoscopy before, which they removed 70% of it.

Is that constant stabbing pain normal?

I'm managing my diet and everything. I don't understand why it's flared so intensely.

Hi

I didn't experience this after my op - but if I were you I would go and see your gp to get it checked out.

I feel for you, I have a lot of stabbing pains too but it comes in waves, I can go a whole morning and be fine then on pain relief the rest of the day. It is good though that your laparoscopy is taking place next week, I've still got wait to see the gynagologist (cannot spell!) - I was diagnosed with endo in May 2012. I would see your GP to discuss pain relief options to get you through until next week.

Im sorry my answer isnt much help as i haven't been fully diagnosed yet.

yes to the stabbing pains, which are happening right now this morning. they were terrible before my lap and a year on they've flared up in a more obvious way.this month. I have multiple fibroids too so hard to say what is doing what.

acupuncture helps and I take paracetamol/co-codomol because they help it subside.

I ask myself what the pains are exactly and I don't think 'they' can tell you specifically as my ob/gyn said he couldn't say. my thinking is, it can be scar tissue from the lap, scar tissue from adhesions, adhesions, the endometriosis tissue going through its cycle, my uterus is quite mishaped due to fibroids so it is pushing on internal organs and nerves and also my left ovary is stuck to my uterus which the ob/gyn said would be pressing on the nerve that runs through the groin down to the knee which is where I get pain too..... so I don't have a definitive answer.

Sometimes I wish I could see exactly what's going on inside me so I could know and make better informed decisions. One thing's for sure I've learnt more about my body and the conditions through my alternative approach rather than the medical way and also found a lot more kindness and compassion.

It's all a learning process and a challenging journey!

:)
