Weight fluctuation

I have a terrible time with weight fluctuation! One day my jeans are too big, in three days they are too small! Why is it so crazy? Does anyone else have trouble with this? And what do you do to prevent it?

You can't prevent it. 99% of women probably have weight fluctuations. Partly due to what they are eating, what activities they are doing, what stage of their hormonal cycle they are at and so on.

On a monthly cycle basis my weight had a half a stone fluctuation every single month. A lot of that was building up tummy bloat of fluids between ovulation and the period, then when the cramps and period kicked in and the hormone levels dropped - I would be spending a lot more time on the loo peeing away the excess fluids.

That is a perfectly normal state of affairs for women to have weight fluctuation.

The best advice I can give you is to buy your jeans on the bloated days so you know you are getting a size that will fit the expanded you, and then it will certainly fit the skinnier you too. Or have two pairs - one for skinny days and one for bloating days.

You can try altering aspects of your diet to minimise the discomfort from bloating - but there is no guarantee that it will work for everyone. Most of us take practical steps to wear comfy clothes on the days we need to - when we are a bit heavier and expanding a bit.

It sounds like u may have mild irritable bowel syndrome.

I had this too until I gave up eating gluten. Turns out I have an intolerance to it. I lost a stone in weight within a month of giving it up. I was eating healthy and exercising at the time too.

The only way to know if you have an intolerance is to give the food up for a week or two then introduce it back into your diet and see if the symptoms return. There are no reliable tests for it.

It's very common with endo to have food intolerance.

I would weight myself in d morn and wen I would weight myself later in the day I cud put nearly whole stone on. And you can look pregnant with it. Also another giveaway is a stomach that's more swollen on one side. Like a lopsided baby bump.

Also if your stomach is getting bloated try peppermint tea. I can't stand the taste but it very quickly reduces any bloating from ibs and it's cheap. Ideally it should be taken 3times a day but I just couldn't.

Hope this helps.
