i have had endometrisis laproscapy 5 weeks ago but im still getting shooting pain in my ovaries should i go back to my doctor is this normal

Hi loulah,

I had a laparoscopy nearly five weeks ago and Im also still have pains in my ovaries. I've been to see the dr and I believe it's normal considering the kind of op I had. I'm taking paracetamols for the pain and I'm off work for 6 weeks. Are you still off work? Good luck.

This is totally normal - I had a laparoscopy in May and it took me until august to start feeling better... I'm more or less pain free now but it takes a really long time, so don't panic, just take it easy and know that it's normal how you are feeling.

i had the same, i also had my op in may and took until oct to be relatively pain free, felt really bad after the surgery, but glad im feeling better now, im sure you will soon too x

It is totally normal dear. I've had 3 laps so far and after each of them I experienced the shooting pains in my ovaries for around 4-5 months afterwards. It does settle after a while and paracetamol with a hot water bottle seemed to help ease the pain when it was too! Hope you're feeling better soon xx
