Absolutely it is. A hysterectomy doesn't cure endometriosis. Endo can be on any organs and tissue in the body except inside the uterus, so having the uterus removed will only stop you having menstrual periods. Your body is still producing oestrogen which feeds the endo lesions that were left inside you everywhere else, and they will bleed as they did before and cause pain and grow and develop on new places.
The hyst will certainly remove some of the monthly hell, but unless you have also had a really thorough removal of all the rest of the endo elsewhere, it will remain active.
Also each surgery encourages more adhesions or scar tissue which can be painful.
Also each surgery and endo itself can damage nerve endings which send pain signals even if what initially caused the pain is no longer there.
So of course you can be on this forum. It is a life long battle for some of us.....very sadly !!
As Impatient has said it's absolutely fine for you to post here. Welcome and hope you find this site as useful and supportive as I have, it's been a god send to me as I don't know anyone who suffers with endo where I live X.
Did they take your ovaries too? Had you tried a course of Zoladex or similar prior to your hysterectomy?
I went to docs today and she was saying yes hyst will help with the monthly issue but there is a chance they have to go back in for a lap and zap more endo! I have had my last zolodex today and had examination and things aparently are bulky!!!!! Just fed up want it out now!!!! Hooe u get sorted soon.
