Could you help me I was wanting to know was there any side effects coming off this? I feel sick and bad heart burn and feels like I'm getting flu, is this normal? Could I have been caught pregnant even tho no period? Please anyone's help I be thank full.
Life after prostap: Hi thank you for... - Endometriosis UK
Life after prostap
if you had unprotected sex then you certainly can have got pregnant. condoms must be used throughout Prostap and for 4 months after the last implant as the drug is toxic to babies and can cause foetal abnormalities.
BC Pills don't work when on Prostaop as it says clearly in the patient advice leaflet so if you have had sex without a condom or a diaphragm in then please take a pegnancy test if for no other reason than to put your mind at ease.
It can take on average 5 months after the drugs for your period to return. Some ladies much sooner and some much longer or never, but 5 months is the average.
If you do find out that you are pregnant you will need to book an appointment to see your GP as soon as you can to discuss what you want to do. It could be a high risk pregnancy and you will need to be closely monitored.
The chances of that are slimmer than just having come down with a flu like bug of some sort. There certainly are bugs doing the rounds at the moment. I a just getting over a viral throat infection that has raged on for over 3 weeks. everyone else had it a day or two. Not me though. Immune system wrecked by endo I guess and the bug hit me hard. I had the 1st week in bed, but i am on the mend.
Just an ordinary bug can be a lot harder to fend off when you have endo.
after i came off zoladex i really noticed things improving by about the 7th week after the last implant and most of the side effects were wearing off by then for me, but we are all different and react differently.
Hope you are on the mend soon and getting your life back to normal.
Thanks so much for you reply, I took a test and it says I'm not thank god, even tho we want one I wouldn't like to harm one.
I couldn't last the 6 months and only took 5 months of injections, they wouldn't give me hrt or anything to help with the symptoms.
Endo isn't nice at all and no one understands unless you suffer from it, I have know since my daughter was born 8 years ago something was wrong and it has taken them 8 years to do a lap it's been a living nightmare.
Thanks again for your help and advice xxx
