A&E again.....

I got woken up today with such bad pains, I couldn't walk, I was crying so hard it was unbelievable! My mum and fiancé got worried so they called paramedic who said there's nothing they can do, although I could've had entonox but they were a bit reluctant (I used a whole bottle in half an hour XD) I got taken up to A&E and they heard the story, told me it might be ectopic pregnancy, found out I'm not pregnant then begins them trying to be useful in finding something wrong with me. I kept telling them, I know exactly what's wrong I just really needed help at that moment.

Eventually I got it through their thick skulls after much discussion with my dad who was not best pleased, I got them to give me an ultrasound. I was absolutely fine with them saying to drink loads and don't got to the toilet but then in the room came the dreaded question "Can we do an ultrasound inside? Only we can't see properly on the outside." I was in SOOOOOOO much pain after it! I thought I was going to kick the poor woman's face most of the time.

We finished their and she said, ovaries are fine, tubes are fine but my womb is retroverted, she said it's quite significant so that won't be helping. I also found out I'd been right all along, fluid was found in my POD and she said it's most likely that it is now there too (like I kept trying to say-its progressed in 6 years)

Anyway, I left after 10 hours with no meds prescribed, no relief (even after 1 x Gabapentin 300mg, 2 x Paracetemol 500mg, Entonox full tank, 5mg Morphine-intraveinous, 1 x Codeine 50mg, 2 x Paracetemol 500mg then 2 x Ibuprofen 500mg in that order)and nowhere closer to having any better knowledge of whether its bad or not. Sorry for the long message and I'm sorry if I've missed anything, I'll probably update in a comment or something.

Hope all you lovely ladies are as well as possible,

Speak soon,

Leya

I am sorry you had so much pain and ended in a and e .

I did too in March although I had a high pain threshold .

Are you followed by a gynae ? Not that they are very useful most of the time ..

What do you take painkillers wise ? You need to take them ok a regular basis before the pain is too strong and they cannot touch the pain anymore ..

I had liquid in my abdomen too and a cyst on my ovary . It can cause a lot of pain .

I avoid certain food as it makes me worse .

Take care xx

I am with a gynae in Oxford and she is doing some good work for me but she doesn't want to do another lap to get rid of some of the endo.

I take Gabapentin 300mg 3 times a day but its giving me such bad mood swings and the first one makes me dizzy, second makes me sleep almost all day and the third is the one that finally hits the pain but just makes it a dull ache.

Would you say that the liquid is endo in the POD or just the blood from the endo on my womb collecting there?

And yeah, I'm trying to follow the endo diet but its hard as I basically can only eat chicken, veg and water :(

Anyway, hope you are as well as possible today,

Take care,

Leya xx

If there is nothing they can do to sort out long term wise removing the issue you need to ask to be referred to a chronic pain team as the analgesia you took/were given is definitively not ideal and could do with something that you take regularly and have something stronger ready and waiting for these episodes. It's difficult for an A&E department because if they took your word for the issue that is wrong and they missed something else (ie it could have been your appendix, a ruptured cyst, bleed etc) then you would have been more angry. They have to follow a routine and try to make sure that it is what you think.

Try and rest now and then get yourself referred for chronic pain advise if you think you need help managing it as this is all we can do unfortunately, we need to do what we can do to keep going and lead a normal life

Take care

I suppose its better to test for everything rather than take my word and I end up with something else wrong. I think I will go to a place in Kent when I'm 18 as they have consultant and pain specialist and some other technical stuff lol, so I'll see what they say and hopefully they'll help.

Take care,
