Hi does anyone know if it is possible to have an ovarian cyst syringed out? For me surgery is NOT an option so I am looking for alternative options. I am due to go to the Endo clinic in July but am interested to find out if anyone on here has done it this way?

Hi Cath39, it is possible to have the cyst drained without surgery. I had it done 18 months ago, but it had to be followed up with a laparotomy as it filled up again in a matter of months. You are either heavily sedated or given a general, and a large needle is then used up through the vagina, guided by a scan. I would suggest speaking to your consultant and checking what your options would be when you go in July.
Hope this helps
Xx
If I were you I'd just get then drained or removed any way possible as soon as possible, I was rushed into hospital 7 weeks ago when a cyst ruptured and I'm now left with a terrible scar and had to have 6 weeks recovery!
