any one know about the endo diet ??? and ... - Endometriosis UK
any one know about the endo diet ??? and can it help if ttc not just for managing endo? all advice welcome , thanks ladies .
Yes and Yes, we are ttc. We're very fortunate in that I have a girl who is 3, but we've been ttc #2 for 2 years. I'm using Dian Shepperson Mills from endometriosis.co.uk who wrote the book endometriosis a guide to healing through nutrition. When I had my first skype consultation with her she sent me a booklet making babies, which is all about how nutrition can help all and especially endo couples conceive, along with a dvd with some brilliant case studies from successful clients. I'm about 2-3 months into the diet, after having had a lap to clear my womb of endo, although they failed to clear my abdominal cavity (severe stage 4 on pretty much everything). My pain at periods is now manageable with heat pads and paracetamol, I have a lot more energy and my skin, nails etc are stronger. We've only been going for 2 months ttc since the lap and diet but are hopeful, we'll try IVF in another couple of months if needed. As well as the diet (no wheat, cows diary, oranges, grapefruits, limited caffine, alcohol, soya, red and green veg at each meal, berries and nuts and seeds most days, red meat the week before my period, otherwise white meat / lots of fish) I'm also taking a ton of supplements specific to me. Which include efamarine (fish oil and evening primrose), slippery elm for my gut, acidophilus for immune system, vitamin e for immune system, general pregnancy multivit, vitamin d, as my levels were tested low, and magnesium malate to help smooth the pain. These will vary month by month. I'm also buying organic as much as possible. It is expensive, but from my perspective worth it from the pain management element alone, before the fertility element comes into play.
Fingers crossed it works for us.
Hugs and I hope you find a solution that works for you too.

It also helps to reduce the amount of estrogens your body gets from pharmaceutical products and plastics by using glass containers in microwaves instead of the plastic trays and for storing food and using products minus all the nasties like parabens, sulphates and phthalates as we get xenoestrogens from these sources too so I understand. x
