Can patients join the NKF even if they are not members of a local Kidney Patient Association ?

Patients are usually members of the NKF via their local KPA, however it is possible to also join the NKF as "a Friend" details are found on kidney.org.uk

The NKF believes that informed patients live longer and fitter lives - why not have a discussion about this concept ?
