Is it okay to have a steroid injection when you have ckd stage 3

I was given a steroid injection for trigger finger I'm stage three CKD and was told it was safe.It was extremely painful as lots of nerves in hand's and only gave me temporary relief.

Did you eventually have to have operation .

I was offered an operation but told it may or may not be successful so I've decided to leave it for now and just put up with it.
