Hi, when I was first diagnosed with high blood pressure, I found the Dash Diet and have been following it since. I read at the time that I could allow myself 2 servings of protein per day. I have these either at breakfast and dinner time or at lunch time and dinner time. The breakfast protein serving is egg. I continued with the diet after being diagnosed with CKD. Today I looked at the diet again and discovered I can have up to 6 servings of protein per day on a 2000 calorie a day diet. How can I tell how many calories I need in a day? - I am a fairly inactive 75 year old with CKD and Atrial Fibrillation. Can I up the number of protein servings I can allow myself or just stay where I am?
Thanks
Gillian
