I am 31 and recently been diagnosed stage 3A CKD and awaiting a kidney scan later this month. I get regular headaches and neck/back pain which has been managed with ibuprofen mostly in the last 10 years (which probably has caused the CKD from what my Dr said), and have been told to avoid it, but now I am in pain often and it is muscular so paracetamol and other pain killers don't help much, what else can I do to help with this pain?!?! Can I never take anti-inflammatories again? I have started doing yoga/pilates and stretching daily and this still doesn't help enough for me to not be in pain.

Anti-inflammatories and CKD
HI Lollyann189, You need to find the cause of the pain. And yes, ibuprofen is terrible for the kidneys. There are very few medications that you can take. Tylenol is ok, but will eventually be bad for the liver. I feel for you as it is a viscous circle. See if there is a pain management clinic you can go to.
Sounds like you could have Fibromyligia .With the Kidney disease do not take aspirin or ibuprofen., Aleve so on ....Also cut way down on sugar in your diet. Ask doctor about trying CBD drops .
I don’t have fibro, I get tight muscles in my back from my office job and normally a monthly chiropractor adjustment keeps it under control but sometimes I sleep funny or pull a muscle and it flares up between sessions. Thanks have spoken to my Dr and they said as long as only occasionally if I am in severe pain then ibuprofen is ok as long as only for a day or so. I used to take it almost daily with my muscle pain and headaches so this is already hugely cutting down from before!
You can not take the anti- inflammatory meds !!
Try CBD oil . Make sure it is from a company that sells Organic non- GMO and has 3 rd party testing that is shown on the website so you can see it . Myself I buy from a company called.. Go Green Hemp .
