Hi, yes, bit of a shock as I was referred by Blood Donation as they refused my blood a couple of times after years of giving due to the drop in Hb. I had a comprehensive blood test via the GP & it was flagged as AKI with a Gfr of 38 and CKD 3B. A referral was made to urology but the hospital kept coming up 'no appointments available' for a couple of months so I found this link & read through the comments. I changed my diet & started exercising & losing weight (I had been on meds for fibromyalgia & Gout later on). I paid to see a urologist eventually who said it wasn't a urological problem & I needed to be referred to Nephrology. I had the same issues at hospital as before, 'no appointments available' for months, both times being bumped out of the referral system. Luckily I had followed advice on here as I had none even from the GP thanks to Lockdown!? I did request comprehensive blood tests at 3 monthly intervals to monitor stats myself. I have not been monitored at all by GP etc even after a collapse & A&E admission where I was told I had blood in my urine as well as the eGfr stats - sent off to be monitored by GP. Hey ho, I have lost 2 1/2 stone & my filtration rate stats were 38 39 38 41 & finally 46 in December, placing me as CKD 3A. I'm proud to have achieved this without medical assistance but help would have reduced the stress & anxiety during these crappy times! It may well have been the meds I was taking for fibro that caused the issues as I know of no other reason for this AKI. Good luck!
