I read on many platforms that in most countries, the medicare covers all the treatment, medicines, dialysis, everything.
But in India they will never give u mediclaim policy even if u are ckd patient in early stage.
I also read that in many counties, the end stage renal patients irrespective of their income and financial background is considered as Disabled and they receive benefits from the government for their treatment but in my country INDIA, no facility as such. And here medical facilities in good hospitals care very large so much so that normal income person can't even think to visit these hospitals.
People mostly have to sell their lands and Houses in order to get transplant dialysis in India.
Imagine the plight of a person who has utilized his life long savings for a transplant and his kidneys get rejected
You people are so lucky that your govt and insurance policy cares so much for u

Hello mate, I am Indian living in the UK. It is not free. everyone pay national insurance here each month from their salary through which health services are provided. Some people use the services more than others. I agree the facilities are better but waiting times can be really high depending on where you live. There are several medical insurance policies in India where you pay low monthly amount. So do some research please. Don't forget India is doing far better in response to COVID 19.
I am in USA. Medicare pays for people over 65 years old. It does NOT pay the entire amount. It pays 80% of the approved cost. I say approved because here is how it works. Say a doctor charges $1,000 for something. Medicare will say it is not worth $1,000, but only worth, for example, $600. Then Medicare pays the doctor $480. and the patient has to pay the rest. We pay to Medicare, to have this coverage about $140 per month. Now we can buy additional insurance to pay for the 20% Medicare does not pay. That costs about $250 per month. BUT neither of these insurances pay for medications, such as pills for blood pressure, pain, etc.
If you are under 65 and have End Stage Renal Disease you can get Medicare for anything related to the kidney. It will pay for dialysis, starting the fourth month of treatment. It will pay for 12 months of treatment only. If you get a transplant, it will cover you for 36 months.
Don't believe everything you hear about Medicare. There are horror stories here too.
