Hi darshaks and welcome to this caring community. I am sorry to hear that your mom is so unwell at the moment. It sounds as though she is receiving good care. Your mom's renal consultant will be best placed to discuss her future treatment with you. You can book an appointment to arrange to speak to him/her. It may help if you write down a list of questions you may wish to ask. You may also be able to speak to the clinical nurse specialist in renal care.

You may also find it helpful to call the UK helpline at The National Kidney Foundation

0800 169 09 36 [open Monday to Friday 9am--5pm]

This helpline is dedicated to kidney patients

They also have many leaflets available. Their website address is--

kidney.org.uk/helpline

Please look after yourself too and try to get as much rest as you can. It may be a good idea for you to go and see your GP who will be able to help and support you during this difficult time. Please stay on this forum where you will receive support from other members. Are any members able to help darshaks, please?

Take care and best wishes to you and your family.

Dear please don't worry. My father was diagnosed with ckd in 2011, when his eerum cr was 1.5. He has a whole lot of medical ailments. He had to be injected with contrast dye in numerous occasions. Series of open heart Surgeries, carotid stenting all have been done. Now his serum cr is 2.3. One kidney has considerably shrunk. However the dialysis will not start till his cr reaches to 4. Don't panic. I know what pain you are going through. I have gone through the same phase. Even I have lot of anxiety BP issues, have to take care single handedly, along with a small child, and also an ailing mom. So I can understand. But try not to panic. My father is 75 years old. Cancer survivor, cerebral hemorrhage survivor, his heart is now 100 percent blocked too. And we can't go for any more surgeries either. Do keep praying, make her eat a lot of vegetables and fish thrice a week. No red meat, no extra salt, make sure she is taking all her medications on time.

Above all stay up and be positive. Life is amazing.

No fear, my father is not on dialysis yet. And don't you panic. At 2.5 cr your mom is not going to go for dialysis anytime soon. With proper diet and the BP control her cr will definitely improve. Stay positive. She is not going to go for dialysis anytime soon.
