Testing, exaggerated results.

Hi, I am new here. Jyst started down the CKD road. Got real scare when my egfr suddenly started to deteriorate. Here is partially why, since my last blood test I stared a high activity exercise plan over 1hr a day 7 days a week . Lost 25lbs and reduced ny fasting blood sugar from 120 to low 90's. However creatinine and bun rocketed up causing low egfr. ALL DUE TO WAS PRODUCTS FROM BURNING FAT AND MUSCLE. So did not exercise 48hrs before ny next test, as per the Cansdian Board Of Health we site recommendation and ny numbers cam back to within decimal points of normal. Still not as good as they should be but a less scary place to improve from. Just an observation if it helps.

Ya, stress from exercise and even dehydration can cause your GFR to fall and your creatinine and BUN to rise.

Glad you were able to lose weight and bring your blood sugar down, but hope in the future you will stay away from the "fat and muscle burning products."

Hopefully, you will have no further problems with your kidneys. All of us on this site have learned how precious our kidneys are and how important they are to your health and well-being. Let us know if you continue to have issues. We cannot diagnose on this site, but can speak from our own experiences.

I was diagnosed with CKD in 1992 and needed a transplant by 1998. I had a transplant from a deceased donor in 1999. I am living well and extremely thankful 20 years post transplant.

CKD is all about diet and life style choice once you get past the initial dire panic most of us seem to go through. A better understanding of CKD and better choices generally help to raise the kidney function. Life doesn't stop because you are now aware you have CKD.
