Any idea for how long I will be able to maintain GFR of 32 with proper medication.

First of all don't panic.

Take a breath and relax. Grf 30 means you are currently on stage 3b and can maintain your grf for more by healthy eating and exercising. Find a good nephrologist and a cause of your CKD.

It may be hypertension, diabetes and some immune disorders.

After finding the cause take your medication and maintain good health, be hydrated and regular visits to your doctor.

And be positive.

You can improve gfr. The numbers fluctuate depending on many things. I found this on the National Kidney Foundation site:

It could be something as simple as dehydration, or it could be something worse. Other sources for information:

At stage 4 you should be able to see a nephrologist and a renal dietician. Both should be helpful, but if you find a nephrologist who is all doom and gloom, find another one immediately.

Ah if we could only predict our futures. But we are all different. All we can do is follow the general "rules" for maintaining ourselves. Proper diet. Some level of exercise. While there really are not medications we can take to help our problem, there are far more we should avoid. Nsaids, antibiotics, etc. etc. And the general advice of drinking water, etc. I guess it is different in each country about medical care. Someone posted when you reach stage 4 you can then see a kidney doctor. I am stage 3 and see a kidney doctor right now. There is not a requirement to wait until stage 4 here (USA). I meet with her and get tested (blood and urine) by her sometimes every 3 months, sometimes every 4. We fine tune as we go along. For example if the potassium level were to be too high we reduce my intake, if calcium too low we increase my intake, etc. There are periodic ultrasounds of the kidney. But truly, there is not magic wand nor crystal ball to predict what tomorrow will bring or what will be. Sometimes I feel it is almost worse to know I am "ckd", then not to have known it, since in the end it is all up to fate what will happen. It may sound I am too accepting. But i'm not. I worry just as much as the next guy. It some days weighs very heavily on my mind. Try not to spend all your time on thinking what if it gets worse, can it be maintained, what will happen, etc.? You will of course do this. It is normal. But try your best.
