Wow, this is so bad

I keep tying to find some positive stats out there somewhere but I'm coming up empty. I was super relieved when I read a stat that only 1 in 10 ckd patients end up with end stage disease. But from what I'm gathering it's mainly because most people die from cardiovascular events long before they reach end stage. I'm so scared and depressed. I can't believe this is all really happening. :(

Hi Cruze, I know how you feel. I have just been told by gp that I am now at high risk for cardiovascular disease and wants me to take ace Inhibitors. Not happy with this result so having a second opinion this week. May be better for me to take statins. Will see what new doc says. Feeling very low at the moment ☹️

Hi there,

My care team would have been negligent had they not referred me to a cardiologist to be monitored. It's true that heart disease is linked with CKD. But being monitored properly and following the directions of our specialists, including adhering to a renal diet and getting appropriate amounts of fluids for your circumstance, will allow a vast majority of us to live a good, long life.
