Ramipril is one of the best drugs for controlling your blood pressure. Is your blood pressure stable? Tight control is important in kidney disease. Unfortunately I had to come off ramipril as it made me cough one of the side effects of the drug. If you are concerned discuss this with your Gp or renal consultant.
My blood pressure is around 115/58 after taking Med, in in the morn.
in the evening its around 135/67 so I assume that's OK, I do notice that my throat gets very hoarse, but no cough yet !!!! I am a bit worried that my creatinine has gone up and my kidney function gone down.
Like I said I am seeing the Dr. on Thurs, but was interested to know if any one else had any problems. I have never been referred to a renal consultant, my GP wont refer unless I get to stage 4.
I have tried many B/pressure meds. but they all have their side effects.
Don't let it rule your life, just avoid anti-inflammatory like Brufen. Drink plenty of water, no coffee or coke. Eat healthily not too much red meat. Try to walk or exercise to keep your bones strong. We just have to live with it. Stay well
