Low blood pressure ckd 3b gfr 31

Hi there. At my last nephrologist visit in May I was told my gfr had dropped from 41 to 31. He said this may be because my blood pressure has been too low (often below 110 and sometimes below 100) and it should rise again if we can get my bp up to above 110. Anyone else experienced low blood pressure causing problems? I was on 2 bp meds for secondary hypertension but have recently lost weight so it's come down. I've dropped the Atenolol and may have to stop the Ramipril too if it remains low but then I'm worried about it going too high again and causing more damage.

sounds like being too low can damage too drinking more will help to bring it up a bit i know some of the bp tablets like ramipril help to protect the heart my husband always suffered high bp but after an illness he had very low bp he has heart problems too the heart consultant wanted him still on some as high as he could tolerate as he said they help the heart beat stronger its so complicated the body isnt it? x

Thanks for your reply. The GP has now reduced the Ramipril a bit but is reluctant to stop it as he says it also protects the kidneys. I don't have any heart problems. I'm trying to increase the amount I'm drinking - thanks for your advice.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I don't have any heart problems, just the ckd. I'm drinking more to try to get the bp up. The GP has lost my last blood test results so I don't know if my GFR has come up again or not - have to have it done again. All the best to you.
