Been to see kidney specialist, my BMI is 41.3 and need to lose weight down to BMI of 38 towards having a kidney transplant. Any tips and advice?

Weight loss
I would join Weight Watchers or Slimming world who will present you with a healthy diet and group support. good Luck x
Hi Robson38 If you go to see your GP they can refer you to slimming world for 6 weeks on prescription. I am sure this would be a really good option. I follow the diet and my weight is coming down nicely. The food is great and you are never hungry. Buy a cheap pedometer and make sure you do your 10.000 steps a day and if possible start a gentle exercise routine there are plenty of free ones on u tube.
Hope this helps it is working for me.
Best wishes
Christine.
I'm in the same position - my BMi is 31.5 at the moment and I've been told to get at least below a BMi of 30 for my transplant to take place. I've been doing the 5:2 diet for a while with some progress although fairly slow! I've got MS as well so exercise is a problem though I do have an exercise bike which I try to use most mornings if possible. If you like the structure of weightloss meetings then Weightwatchers is a good one to try (I've done this in the past but my local group closed). Good luck x
Thank you everyone for your advice and words of wisdom. Think I will ring my GP about 6 weeks on prescription with a slimming group. Wonder if you can only do Slimming World or would W/Watchers be ok. Will let you know how I do.

Well done, keep going!
