Statins and tinnitus
Hi folks, I've been really struggling for a few months with my T (17 years with it). So it was an unwelcome shock to find out that I now need to go on statins due to calcified blood vessels (long story). The first thing I thought was oh no what if they affect my T! I did a bit of googling which suggested

Tinnitus
is there a link between hypothyroidism and tinnitus? I have unilateral tinnitus and have been referred to a consultant ENT. I can’t find any hopeful information suggesting tinnitus is curable and the references to unilateral tinnitus are all a bit worrying ie tumour (benign) and Ménière’s disease

The truth is that we need more research!
The truth is that we need more research and we need more exams, exams capable of seeing the middle ear and cochlea internally while alive. Vestibular Migraine/ PPPD Or Something Else
I'm at my wits end really. I'm a mid 50's female, my balance issue started very abruptly in April 2022. I have had very sporadic, classic migraine with aura since my teens but could go for years between attacks. I was diagnosed with hypothyroid in 2020 and around that time I noticed my migraines got

Hearing loss
My upcoming AN surgery will result in permanent hearing loss in my left ear. What is the experience of living with hearing in only one ear, and has anyone had cochlear implants? How effective are they?

Effects of azithromycin on blood pressure
I have recently been prescribed azithromycin long term three times a week. Has anyone had their blood pressure go up as a result of taking this whilst also being treated for high blood pressure and AF with Digoxin cadesartan and bisoprolol. I have been told by the consultant that the digoxin is a low

CBD and Seizures
Hi, I witnessed my mum having a seizure yesterday eve which is the most scary experience I have had. Mum was in bed, I had just administered her meds and went into the kitchen and heard the most awful screaming (mum’s speech is limited so hearing a noise like this was alarming). I ran into the bedroom

tinnitus interacts with other sounds??
hi there, I’ve had tinnitus for 12 years now and it’s been good and bad, but mainly okay. About 10 years ago, I had EDT and everyone’s voices had a high pitch whistle to them! Also my voice sound strange. This eventually went after 12 months. Tinnitus has since just been up and down as per usual but

Blackseed oil
Hi, is it safe to rub blackssed oil on your neck over your thyroid as a moisturiser? I've heard you shouldn't use castor oil over it, so was wondering if it's the same for blackseed oil. TIA

Stay with audiologist/aid or move?
I am aged 81, with "moderate" sensoneurinal hearing loss and tinnitus. The tinnitus does not bother me too much but it seems to reduce my hearing further. I have (privately) a pair of GN Resound AN R 5 XQ R aids. I go to an audiologist in a major firm and she seems skilled and is most attentive-and

Hearing Loss
In December 2023 I had acute Otitis media ear infection in my right ear, which perforated my ear drum. After many weeks of antibiotic ear drops the infection cleared slightly but I still had earache and significant hearing loss and still had a small hole in my ear drum which has not healed. As this

Hearing aids and habituation
Hi all. Following on from previous posts I've been told I have some mild/moderate hearing loss. Managing fine but did wonder if hearing aids would help my T but would this not hinder habituation?? Also looking at that tinnisoothe anyone had any experience of wearing such a device and if so how effective
