My misses has just been told she has type 2 diabetes and I know very little about it so the forum seems a great place to learn

Hi and welcome to the group, madmaxsam . Thank you for introducing yourself to the group and the information.

Here is the link for the free leaflets that the DRWF has on the website: drwf.org.uk/understanding-d...

You can also check out the Type 2 information at: drwf.org.uk/understanding-d...

I hope this helps you.😀👍

Diabetes UK great site for information. I'm type 2 and had a Quadruple bypass in October.

You and your misses may find it interesting to watch these 2 videos where the leader for the American Diabetes Association explains how she has reversed her diabetes by reducing the refined carbohydrates and fast foods in her diet.

People with dark skins tend to have lower vitamin d levels than people with paler skins and this results in a lower rate of magnesium absorption and both vitamin d and magnesium protect the body from the adverse consequences of high blood glucose levels.

Taking at least 5000 iu daily vitamin d3 and 400mg elemental magnesium will make the changes suggested by Tracey Brown in the above videos work faster.

You may like to know that the UK Doctor David Unwin has several videos on youtube explaing how he is saving his paitents from the consequences of diabetes progression with diet and lifestyle changes. Here is an example of his work.
