am non diabetic, and I keep getting these type of numbers but when I check a few minutes later there back to normal numbers? I’m really worried there’s something wrong with me as lowest I’ve dropped is to 3.5 :(

8:52pm tonight I was 3.8

Checked again at 8.58 and it was 4.3

What did you have for your dinner? Did you have a snack after dinner?

I had a jacket potato with tuna cheese and salad at half past 4. I’ve not eaten since then as that was my tea

How big/what type was the potato?

It was just a McCain’s jacket potato, not very big

Medium sized? We don’t have that out here.

Your numbers seem to be perfectly okay. Need not worry about your BS. Please note the following:

1. Blood sugar level is dynamic. It keeps varying.

2. Home glucometer is not very accurate. Absolute value has to be confirmed by lab test. You do not seem to have any symptom of low blood sugar, therefore it should be okay.

3. There is a condition called reactive hypoglycemia which results in low blood sugar following a Carb rich(sugary) large meal. That can be confirmed by extended GTT ( Glucose Tolerance Test). However, you do not seem to have any symptom of that.

Do not worry. Eat healthy - no sugary junk food!
