Hi everyone. Just wondering what symptoms people get if their blood sugar is low? Is shakiness in the arms and legs on their own a symptom?
Low blood sugar : Hi everyone. Just... - Diabetes Research...
Low blood sugar
Can be. Also low sugar can be confused with hunger. I get shaky limbs and also a crushing felling in my stomach.
There are many ways that we feel hypoglycaemic. If we are aware of the low, this is a great point - it means you have hypo awareness. Not everyone has this. It can affect us in many ways from our speech, to hunger, to changing our personality aversely from how we normally are. Once we recognise the change, if we have a meter, we can stop and take a blood check and make a further determination from there. We should always have nearby some substance such as jelly babies, glucose, biscuits or something that will stimulate the system until we can get back on our feet. We can shake, get blurred vision, talk peculiar to people, sometimes not comprehend what is happening around us. We have to catch it, stop and think of a fix to hold us over until we can get to some nourishment in the form of carbs to revitalise our system. So Laurenjf I hope this was useful to you.
I was once talking to a bunch of student nurses how a HYPO feels. Your head is in the clouds. Your out of it, peed as a-----. Very weird feeling & hard to describe. oo.8 is the lowest I have been & been able to test. I was also talking to a new group of paramedics, Don't think diabetics are trying to fight you! "They are fighting for their lives.”
