It will depend where you are in your medical studies and what specialty interests you. Experience each placement and network with all members of the team at whatever level you are to get the best out of each placement. Remember the secretarial and administrative staff can be the most help in ensuring you get the best out of any research or audit work that you will do.
Your studies will take you to many places. You will have to learn many basic things and once you have a handle on much of what you can do, you may find the area that comes easy to you but not to the others you are studying with. We all have degrees of talent and many have unique skills, but just haven't discovered them yet. You will either find them, or a member of staff, trainer or observer to you may see something that you don't. I've seen it happen many times in life. Do your best in everything that comes your way. Take time out after a few months and look at what you didn't know and compare what you do know. Always take time out and reflect on your successes and evaluate some failures or just not getting it right. This is how we learn and hone our skills towards that path you want to eventually be taking. Once you have that dream, look in the mirror and picture yourself making that role fit you and be the person you see. Hard graft will get it for you. Best wishes.
