Hi

Similar here we did well in January 25 dry days but feel it is creeping back in, last night we had a bottle of wine each which before January it would have been 3 and I do feel a little rough this morning, I start the day saying I won't have a drink but gets to around 4 -5pm and cave in, it doesn't help that its me and my wife, and if one mentions it the other caves in not sure why around that time it's a trigger even though we went Sunday and Monday without a drink, at the moment we don't feel we want to give up completely but to control what we drink and how much but maybe its the type of person and some can't do that they have to give up, I will keep trying.

Maybe try and stretch to 5 days and go from there and cut down over a weekend

Good luck

I have found, It takes time to get to certain stages. I started off with 2 nights of no wine etc. did that for some years. Then my GP asked me nicely to cut down. ( because of another health issue I have) So I did drastically for 5 months with only a small glass of 0.5% dry cider on 1 evening a week. After awhile, I found myself getting back into drinking wine 3 nights a week. So after some thought, I decided I would allow myself to have 2 weekend days with 1 or 2 glasses of Sparkling wine per evening. And 5 days without. Managing this so far so good, although sometimes Not easy for me as Husband drinks a bottle of wine every evening except 1. And has a G&T every Saturday. The good thing is, I lost over a stone in weight and I feel I sleep a bit better.

Hi this is where I am too, often only Monday to Wednesday. Been doing that for 20+ years. I need to start losing weight and have started running again. To be honest I like drink too much, nice beers and good wine and look forward to it. I definitely drink too much though. Way too much. If I could get down to drinking Friday Saturday only I’d be happier! Good luck

I’m in a similar position! All I can say is that I just keep trying and I am slowly reducing the amount I am drinking everytime I do. It’s hard and takes a lot of headspace. Good luck and keep going x
