Hi,

I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Naomi and I joined this site to better my life in a healthy way. I'm a recovering alcoholic and addict. I have been a friend of Bill W. since 2008. I, unfortunately, haven't been sober that long. I am a chronic relapser. But as of today, I haven't had a drink in over 2 years. I do also suffer from drug abuse but this group is about drinking so I won't get into the drug aspect of my recovery as this is about drinking. Alcoholism runs in my family and I truly believe that it is hereditary. My mother, grandmother, uncle, brother, and father all suffered from alcoholism as well as myself. So I keep my disease upfront and surround myself with positive women and men in Alcoholics Anonymous.

Nmotz82 Welcome and congrats on sobriety. Alcoholism runs in my family too and I’ve battled it for years. Glad to be under the care of a hepatologist as they’ve helped run numerous tests and still working on reducing my fatty liver disease (diagnosed Dec 2020). Proud of myself for 61 days of sobriety and counting. 🎊🎊
