Hi I too had this and the Doc had to lower my BP tablets . altho I believe that many of us will have this problem for some time after the stroke.. if I am on my feet a lot then my shoes get tight by late afternoons. Remember if youve anything at all that bothers you ..... see your Doc or nurse for re assurance . I had my stroke in May last year and still have problems at some times.. It takes about 1 year to feel as one used to be... its a shock to the system too, Good Luck Do

I get this too - my GP says it's better than having another stroke so suck it up!! As to my GP or nurse being helpful - yeah! Like snow in August - it's all my fault and I'm weak willed and needy - personally I've found a hot water bottle helps lower the swelling but nothing works for everyone :-)

Hi hondacx500, I had my stroke 9 months ago and I get swelling in my legs from the knee down, I don't know how mobile you are but the only thing that reduces this is movement, If I go even for a short walk this really helps. - I think its due to a build up of fluid in the legs and movement dissipates it, but better to ask your doctor.

Stay positive, Gruff
