The socks are not for controlling diabetes, but for protecting your foot from being affected by exposure to open where your are liable to get infected and such foot infections are seriously affecting the foot and may even to lead gangrene and ultimate amputation of the foot if it goes rotten.

Any good pure cotton socks will do.Only they have to washed regularly and not very tight..

i dont have money to waste. i didnt say i want to buy that pair. my curiosity was roused as the chemist told me that the only pair that he had was sold at rs.2000/-

HI, What you have seen may be right. There are thousand variety of diabetes socks available in market. They don't use cotton as the base, but use something like Nano silver technology, nano bamboo charcoal fibers etc. There are various research that is going on in this field and based on those, the socks are made for diabetic people. I have seen good results in many patients & no results in some patients. It's more of a individual choice but not a compulsion that diabetic should wear diabetic socks only.

Ask the chemist what is special in that particular socks. Then search on the internet about that product, read testimonies & other words from reliable sources on that particular socks. If that satisfy you then go and invest on the socks.

Diabetes socks are for comfort & protection, so it can not treat your diabetes & at the same time can not affect your health. Give it a try if you want or if you have Numbness, Tingling, Itching, burning or other symptom in feet.
