consumes direct sugar in the body.If liver is strong,it preserves in it,otherwise it reaches in whole body through blood, which lessens sensibility of body parts, but very slowly.

Alcohol raises the blood sugar immediately and then it drops very fast. So,your diabetes management goes haywire. Also you are adding useless calories to your system and that is bad for a diabetic.Generally while drinking, people indulge in snacking without control.Lastly,a diabetic is prone to neuropathy and alcohol aggravates it.If you are a diabetic ,better avoid alcohol.

Consumption of alcohol definitely raises blood sugar levels and the FB sugar reading is definitely more than when you take the reading without alcohol the previous evening . I have proved this point to my patients .
