Well 19041991 ...

Type 2 diabetes is known to bring many health problems...if it is not controlled....

When I was diagnosed T2 last January..I was scared...and was thinking that at least I have lost 10 years from my life...

However, with proper diet...now my numbers are almost non diabetic...and with diet alone (with very minimal medicines) my all other health parameters are better...(better than what they were when I was diagnosed) felling very energetic....lost lots of weight....

With all this I think....now I will live more (and more healthy) than what was earlier.

So if he/she controls sugar level aggressively with diet....his life expectancy will be more....

@anup may be able to tell more about this...

Hmmmm...if marrying with T2 diabetic lady....I am not sure.... may be suramo will be able to put more light on same...

here are two leaflets....

You can take a look at the free leaflets on " A Healthy Diet and Diabetes" and "Exercise and Diabetes". Go to: drwf.org.uk/diabetes-leaflets

Hope this helps.

Thanks cure.

Yes. If a lady is D already and gets pregnant she has to take extra care because pregnancy itself is a diabetogenic state. Also ladies are more prone to get genitourinary infection as such also. Being D adds to the problem. So ladies have to take exquisite care for the D. Also ladies undergo drastic hormonal changes in their life. Estrogen is a sort of protection for them against atherosclerosis. With advancement in the age around menopausal age there is great decline in estrogen levels. So at that time D ladies have to review their diet and medicines both. Also D is also considered to increase the risk of breast, cervical and uterine cancers.

My doctor's words-- "You will live longer than the non diabetic since you will be monitoring yourself."

velkumar Only monitoring doesn't help. We have to manage D also.
