type 1 is from birth and type two is due to fat etc at adulthood

Type 1 - happens at an early age from say by birth to about 25 yrs, due to some unspecified/confirm reasons (ex. - auto-immune disorder, etc.) while Type 2 - happens at a later age say about and above 25 yrs.

Type 1 - also referred to as Insulin Dependent Diabeties i.e. Insulin needs to be injected using a syringe/Insulin pen(because Insulin production almost stops) while in Type 2(decreased rate of Insulin production) - can be treated using oral drugs or can be Insulin dependent as well(depending on the production rate of insulin by Pancreas).

Hope this answers your query, anyhow this is just a rough idea as such because due to poor lifestyle, cases of Type 2 have increased and can happen at an early age too.
