Hi, amit it seems that you are a reasonable(suljha hua vyakti in hindi) person since your concern is genuine i am an elderly person aged about 70yrs ,can guide a younger to me who is going to start his second inning of life with caution .As regards to your doubts 1 yes, simply because many people are leading a good life with DM1. and you can have baby too (if there is no problem of that sort ) 2 in this connection i suggest to consult a Diabetologistic and discuss without any hesitation . 3&4 It is not sure it may be or not consult a doctor .5 can't say .Don't afraid according to me life is full of challenges one has to be cautious and courageous which you are (I suppose ) so fight and be winner .These are my personal views you may agree or not . Wish you all the success and happy married life .One more thing discuss your health challenge with your future better half and in laws .

With regards

Hello Amit:

I agree with RameshRao.

I have been a diabetic for almost 28 years now and now I am 65............and so I think it is worth saying a few word YOUNG MAN.

Please note there is only one life. We should enjoy the life fully .......and every minute of it.

I would say 'Planning is very important'.

Also, KUDOs to several gurus in this website for their inputs regarding LCHS diet.

Very informative and very very helpful. Only persons like me (who are trying to attempt such methods) would know how useful they are.

Hats off to them.

I had travelled all continents and lived away from India after I became diabetic and managed.

To make the long story short...........PLAN AND KEEP THE DIET IN CONTROL.

ENSURE THAT CARBs ARE WITHIN THE RANGE.

You should be fine and even if you marry another diabetic, she should be fine and your kids also will be fine.

If I may add, ...............

there is a news posting in Indian news paper (just 2 days ago) about a new drug introduced in India.

Seems to controls the sugar and also no side effects.

I give below the details for your info.

LUCKNOW: A scientifically validated anti-diabetes herbal drug, named 'BGR-34', was launched by a Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) lab in Lucknow on Sunday. A combination of natural extracts from plants, the drug is based on Ayurveda and has no side effects. The drug is for management of type-II diabetes mellitus.

The drug has been jointly developed by two CSIR laboratories, National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) and Central Institute for Medicinal and Aromatic Plant (CIMAP). It was launched on the 62nd annual day of the NBRI for commercial manufacturing and marketing by M/s Aimil Pharamaceuticals Pvt Ltd, New Delhi.

"The drug has extracts from four plants mentioned in Ayurveda and that makes it safe," said Dr AKS Rawat, senior principal scientist, NBRI. It has been tested on animals and scientific study has found it safe and effective, with clinical trials showing 67% success.

The drug boosts immune system, works as antioxidant and checks free radicals. Though there are other anti-diabetes herbal drugs in the market, 'BGR-34' has been validated scientifically.

The drug will help maintain normal blood glucose levels, reduce chances of complications due to persistent high blood glucose levels and impart a good quality life to patients with high blood sugar levels.

Good luck to you.

You will be fine, with all the blessings of GOD.

I AM A DIABETIC FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND NOW 70+ YEARS .YOU HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY VETERANS AS ABOVE.. REGARDING MARRIAGE I WANT TO STRESS ONE MAIN THING. YOU SHOULD AT ANY COST MAINTAIN YOUR BLOOD SUGAR LEVEL WITHIN ALOWABLE PARAMETERS.OTHERWISE THE FIRST CASUALITY WOULD BE ERECTILE DIS FUNCTION WHICH WILL STRAIN THE MARRIED LIFE.SO BE CAREFUL TO CONSULT A DIABETOLOGIST AND HEED HIS ADVICE REGULARLY. WITH REGARDS

Amit

Your physician is the best person to talk to about whether your children will also be type 1 diabetics or not. And whether it depends on your wife being a diabetic as well or not.

As far as whether you will find a suitable bride or not...I think it depends on what your expectations are. Diabetes is a condition that requires proper care in terms of diet and in your case medication as well, to manage it. It does not mean you have a communicable disease that is making you die a painful quick/ very slow death. So as long as you keep reasonable expectations about a girl, I don't see why you won't be able to find a suitable bride.

Good luck

S

why you want public sympathy for your private life. consult any dotor.

Dear Amit I am a diabetic too from the past 16yrs. I am 26yrs old nw. Your concerns are genuine. However, finding a suitable match I definitely wont be able to answer that. But if you find one and your diabetes is in control you will be havin certain problems in havin a baby bt nowhere in this world it is said that a diabetic cannot have baby..n plus if only one parent is a diabetic the chances of your offspring having diabetes is only 5% however if both the parents have diabetes the probability increases upto 90%. Also being a male u dnt have to worry about carrying d baby in ur womb which further reduces the probability that you cant have a baby..dont worry..even d ppl who r in perfect shape face challenges in having a baby..
