August is National Eye Exam Month. If you have Diabetes and/or other types of health conditions, such as Glaucoma and/or Diabetic Retinopathy, you may be asked by your eye doctor to schedule follow up appointments more than once a year.

In UK, NHS, do the eye check and other diabetes check on birthday month. This works fine for me.
My grandma was totally blind, then one day an Indian traveler came to our house, saw grandma, asked for a coconut tree leaf, the leaf has many use. Used his pen knife to sharpen the end of the single stem. Performed the procedure, this was in 1951.
Grandma had full eye site till her death after few days of procedure.
