Five Supplements worth taking

I keep getting questions on Supplements, as Diabetes tend to feel that they are lacking some Nutrients- something or other in their body as a result of which they are not energetic....they feel tired and exhausted all the time .....they have Muscle ache , leg pain, skin itching, ED, memory recall issues...... depression.....etc etc...and in reality it may be a nutritional deficiency..could also be a side effect of diabetic drug....the moment I reduced diabetic drugs by 75% through diet, life style change , physical exercise I find myself more energetic....

( If you have a question to ask on any of the topic below , please do so- will try to explain you if I am aware )

The Medical stores , the Market is full of vitamin supplements... ..A,B,C,D, E, ......K.....Z..... Protein, Whey....Sugar free... and we tend to resort to various Supplements, which is just a waste of Money and sometimes could be harmful rather than any tangible benefit.

Instead, If you eat a varieties of Vegetables, Leafy Greens, Fruits , Pulses, Whole Grains, Seeds & nuts on a daily basis, you may not need these supplements..

However, at times you may become deficient in Certain Critical and very Important Vitamins/Micronutrients irrespective of whether you are Diabetes or Non-Diabetes, whether you are Young or Old, whether you are Vegetarian or Non- Vegetarian, whether you are Male or Female !

The deficiency can be identified and confirmed through simple blood tests and supplements can be taken after consulting with your Doctor. These are :

(1) Vitamin D

(2) Vitamin B-12

(3) Omega-3

(4) Magnesium ( Magnesium deficiency can not be detected reliably through Blood test- your blood test may be normal , you can still be deficient)

I am going to attach a video links (4th one

in the series) which explains the reason why we should become deficient? what is the advice by the Nutritional experts ? What is evidence based Science ????

(5) Ashwagandha: While I always take a Sceptical view on Ayurveda, Herbs , Unani as far as Diabetes are concerned.. but when I tried it for something , then accidentally discovered something else......it is a very Safe Herbal remedy for many health evils.... good for Diabetes ......blood sugar control to some extent ( you may have to lower your allopathy dose if it works for you) .. please consult your Doctor ...Good for sleep.... Ashwagandha is one of the ingredients in "Coronil " tablet developed by Swami Ramdev ji for developing immunity against Covid19....got approved by Ayush- Govt of India recently ....Coronil kit is a big hit in UK and other western countries- perhaps most NRI's living outside India are importing this drug from india in huge numbers....though it is yet to catch-up in its own motherland.

I had written about Ashwagandha in one of my previous Posts.. .....If you failed in viagra to cure your ED ( some diabetes may develop ED) .....you would not fail with Ashwagandha 😀 both Males and Females. ........please remember nothing to get embarrassed....ED is a signal for future CV risk............in one of my visit to a leading cardiologist for consultation on my lipid profile, I found an embarrassing display board in the reception area of the Doctor where there was a message " IF you have ED, please feel free to talk to your doctor- ED is an early signal of CV failure "....while I never had ED 😀 but I Ventured to ask the cardiologist on the link between ED & CV failure....and he was kind enough to take pain to explain me for 10 minutes....

.......On importance of Ashwagandha for overall health , I used to laugh at many of our Ayurvedic Gurus...now let see what Dr Eric Berg - the Keto diet Guru says on Ashwagandha...

Dr Michael Greger - Well known and well respected in the field of Food & Nutrition. He is the author of the Nytimes best Seller Book "How not to Die" . He keeps track of the latest development, research work in the field of Nutrition and the author of the website NutritionFacts.org

Dear Soni

Earthen vessels good idea☺️ ....it is Bio-Degradable. Our ancestors were all cooking in earthen vessels.....the only issue is these are fragile ...... nowadays, Ceramic/Bio- Ceramic / toughened glass vessel (All Bio-Degradable) have taken over earthen vessel.

Anyway, whatever vessel you use whether Earthen/ ceramic / Glass/ Stainless steel, copper......

The ultimate thing is whether you are deficient in these micronutrients or not ?????

Only A modern Lab test of your blood can reveal whether you are Deficient or not - your lab test can never tell you a Lie!

Ultimately, I will more rely in lab test than anything else . .. it will decide my course of action whether I need a supplement or not ?

For example , type-1's live a full life on Insulin ...it is the blood sugar test which guides them whether they should increase or decrease Insulin Quantity...and thus this course of action saves life .

Earthen pots are not bio-degradable namaha Ji. That's why we get them part of any archeological excavations.

There could be different views on the subject. To my understanding Biodegradable substance is one which can be decomposed or can be broken down in to minute particles without causing Air/water/soil pollution and which is capable of mixing with earth soil in due course. That way, all natural substances on the earth surface such as clay, soil, wood, paper....bio- degradable..

All man made synthetic items such as plastic, polythene...are not.

namaha ,There are some exceptions to your list.

Earthen pot cannot be broken down by the micro organisms even though it is is made of clay.

namaha ,

I would like to go for a magnesium test to understand if my body is deficient in this mineral. Which tests do you suggest (I've read you disclaimer clearly :) ) ?

Cheers.
