Hello All,

I have done a C-Peptide test in November 2018 (value: 1.93 ng/ml). Do you suggest me to repeat this test part of my usual quarterly blood test next month?

Please provide your opinion.

Thanks

Thanks for responding Hidden . I haven't decided yet to go for a C-Peptide test. I'm planning to wait for opinion of few other folks like Praveen55 , namaha , sandybrown to respond on this topic.

Hi,

I like to have fasting insulin and CRP test done in UK. NHS do not do the two tests unless it is absolutely necessary!!

May be one of these days I will find a local private hospital to do the two tests. I have a plan to go to Sri Lanka and Philly, USA this year, India next year, may be I can do the tests in USA if it is cheaper than UK.

My allergy reaction, rash, is very bad at the moment due to unnecessary stress. Antihistamine Zirtek is helping, GP is unable to prescribe steroid medication.

There are countries like India where you can order for any test you like sitting at home...😊

What all you need is to download some standalone Pathological Lab apps in your smart phone....

Just order the tests like you order goods/ groceries from Amazon or any other on line stores. Pay on line...

Next day morning as per time slot chosen by you , a Phlebotomist would be at your door step to collect your blood sample...

You can see your report in the Apps within 6-8 hours for most of the tests...

Nowadays , even most of the leading hospitals are giving this service....

And there are discounts , encashable reward points...

Overall it is affordable...

In today's digital age, when everybody is well informed and educated , you don't need a doctor prescription for doing a blood test....

Moreover, i feel a Diabete is better informed than a disbetologist about blood test reports and its impact.. 😀

I think the topic of this discussion got distracted a bit.

I have done a C-Peptide test in November 2018 (value: 1.93 ng/ml). Do you suggest me to repeat this test part of my usual quarterly blood test next month?

namaha , Praveen55 ,

Thanks

Yes , why not? Goes without saying ..

You should do it along with your fasting insulin...

(1) not very expensive tests ...

(2) no special preparation required

(3) you don't need a doctor prescription in most countries..

(4) The sample blood extracted from your vein for testing blood sugar can also measure circulating insulin and C peptide ...

👍 May God bless you and wish you all the best !
