My hba1c is 6.1 fasting B's 95, ppbs 159, I am taking reclide xr60 once before breakfast. My weight is 69 kg, three months before it was 72 kg. I'm intake around 1200 calories per day, feeling very weakness during daytime. Kindly advise.

If you are consuming 1200 calories per day and if your calculation of the calories is correct, then I think you are not meeting your energy needs adequately, because 1200 calories is barely sufficient to meet your basic metabolic rate.In that case, maybe you should eat more of low glycemic foods. Please think in those lines and understand your issue correctly.I suggest you search in the web for assessing your basic metabolic rate and requirement of additional calories to meet your level of physical activity.

Your HbA1C is 6.1, what is the unit of endearment,? if it is %, look at the top of the screen. Between 6 1/2 % to 7 1/2 % it is green.?

Why are you on medication?

Any plans to visit your doctor to review your medication?

After stopping insulin did you have any problems?

On 11th March visited my doctor and she advised me to continue medicine as usual and add jardiance 25mg 1/2 dose before breakfast. After stopping insulin I have no problem.

Yes.

Good Point.

You may need to meet with a Dietician in addition to an Endocronologist.

The reason being, once your HbA1c is well within the range, you need to revisit with the Doctor for adjusting the dosage.

At the same time, your visit to a Diet Doctor would help you balance and keep your energy level good (and avoid feeling week).

Be very happy about your 6.1 number.

thats an achievement bud...

Kudos

Eat few dry fruits in the morning which will not increase blood sugar and will give strength to the body.

Only Walnut are good.... saying dry fruits is a generalization which is not good.

This is from UK, Internet, nuts for diabetes.

Do different nuts have different health benefits for people with diabetes?

Yes. Some nuts have benefits that others don't.

Almonds contain a lot of nutrients, particularly vitamin E

Walnuts contain healthy omega-3 fatty acids

Cashews offers lots of magnesium

Almonds, peanuts, and pistachios all reduce 'bad' cholesterol

.

Almost all nuts offer something good for people with diabetes. Salted nuts, however, should be avoided. Excessive salt consumption is consistently linked to an increased risk of heart disease.

Right, but:

1. Not everyone can digest raw Almonds, unless they are atleast soaked overnight and then consumed.

2. Cashews do have magnesium, but come with high calories.

3. Pistachios are a great choice for zinc if consumed in moderation.

Walnuts are the safest best and what they offer in terms of nutrition.

Yes white salt should be consumed least and rather people should stick to pink Himalayan salt, which offers a good balance of sodium and potassium.

Cheers!

Likely cause of your low energy could be related to many factors, namely:

1. Your age, and hence your testosterone levels. As you already at 61, so I assume your testosterone level is quite down, get your testosterone levels checked.

2. Your choice of food, specially carbs(whether high/low glycemic). High glycemic will raise your blood sugar, hence your insulin. So any excess carbs/fats in your diet at that moment of time, will be stored as fat. Further you will get some energy, but it will be for short time. Try to go for low glycemic carbs like sweet potato, oats etc.

DON'T drink juices, rather eat fruit. Apple is best.

3. Whether you are eating high quality protein in your meals or not. Include eggs, skinless chicken breast, Quinoa, sea food like fish, shrimp etc in your diet.

4. Lack of exercise - You need to workout atleast 5 days a week. Start with brisk walking early morning and 15 mins after dinner. Then start lifting some weights, not to bodybuild, but to keep your body healthy.

5. Take good supplements - multi-vitamin, Vit C, B- Vitamins, Fish Oil and Most important Magnesium(glycinate)

These are just few pointers of possible reasons of your low energy.

As I always say, be LESS dependent on medicines and more of what you eat and how active you get.

Please research more on above points before implementing them in your life with your own decision.

Cheers!
