Reading on meter is based on blood extracted through capillary whereas lab takes it from artery.meter reading is always slightly higher
There are many gray areas in understanding how glucose and ind insulin are released into the system. For the time being,we have to rely on trial and error and first hand observation to manage sugar levels. In a case such as yours, you alone can throw any light by reviewing what all you ate and did in terms of physical activity during the course of the dat to understand the phenomenon.Even then,it will be valid for you only and that too not for all times. Just recall the instance of one of our peers on the forum who hit 70 after eating half of Tirupati laddu.
the difference can only be explained to the strip used on the meter. My own experience is no two strips give identical reading as after all the reagent on the strip can react slightly different.
