Hi All, since last week i am getting woke up early 4 AM in the morning and then not able to sleep till 6.30 or 7 AM. I checked my BS at 4 AM it is in the range of 90s. What could be the reason for this.

Do you have any stress that could be interfering with your sleep schedule? Stress can also have an effect on your blood sugar.

this happened to me initially when i found i have T2. Initially it was because of stress as i planned to go for morning walk.

Gradually, i was not been so much stressful still it remains same. I was waking up at 4 a.m. and failed to sleep again. Some of the reasons i have found for me:

1. With light dinner i was taking long walks 45 minutes+ It makes me feel hungry early morning

2. After waking up at 4 i was feeling, time is too less to sleep again and wake up again at 6 a.m.

I overcame this, by

1. Making sure i had eaten enough. Shorten walk for 20 min.

2. Just forcing myself to sleep again(took me 45 minutes to sleep again), shorten the duration of morning walk for few days to get enough sleep. Gradually this time shortened.

Now now i am having enough sleep.

I will suggest you to just try to fall asleep again. If you are checking BS u may be in little stress.

If,after a hard day's work, you go to bed early, say at 10.00 p.m,it is very likely that you will slip into deep sleep immediately. In that case,it is not unusual to wake up early. You should be concerned only if you feel sleepy or groggy during later hours.Nevertheless, better review your daily routine during the past few weeks to find anything unusual with regard to diet, job, social life etc etc.

i suffered tis for some time,

i suggest deep breathing and count from 1 to 100, it might be difficult first but gradually u will get accustomed

and also stop thinking that sleep is not enough that will reduce anxiety and you will fall asleep
