Welcome to the group, Zaar57. Random Blood Sugar of 9.5mmol/l is higher than the recommended maximum of 8.5mmol/l for diabetics. in fact it would be healthier if you could achieve a value which is less than 7.8mmol/l. You should make suitable changes to your diets to achieve this goal like eating low carbohydrate meals.

Please tell us your height and weight. Also, let us know your regular diet. The goal would be to reduce the carbohydrate in your diet. Are you vegetarian or non-vegetarian? Do you know your HbA1c ?

Had you undergone HbA1c test.If so,what is the result?Random blood sugar testing may not be of much use to evaluate your diabetes. You should get FBS.PPBS and HbA1c tests to be precise. And what is your height and weight.Reducing weigh by few kilos in a safe manner may help you significantly.

FYI,the website,diabetes.co.uk states that normal random blood sugar level as 11.1 mmol/l.Please open the link below:

That is true, but once on medication, the target is set at max 8.5.

I think one should not depend on RBS for clinical evaluation.Too many variables come into play.Reason why I only gave the link and suggested A1c test.
