Yes. Possible. I started off with bhba1c 13 in 2013. Today I am in the range of 5.2 to 5.7. Reduce carb intake, increase fat and remain active. Check ppbs and ppbs almost daily and hbalc every three months. Experiment with different food regimes and settle down for a personal meal plan. Good Luck.

According to American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, dual drug therapy is recommended if HbA1c is 7.5% or above. For example:-- Metformin + Glimepiride).

Metformin is used alone or with other medications, including insulin, to treat type 2 diabetes (condition in which the body does not use insulin normally and, therefore, cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood). Metformin is in a class of drugs called biguanides. Metformin helps to control the amount of glucose (sugar) in your blood. It decreases the amount of glucose you absorb from your food and the amount of glucose made by your liver. Metformin also increases your body's response to insulin, a natural substance that controls the amount of glucose in the blood.

Glimepiride is used along with diet and exercise, and sometimes with other medications, to treat type 2 diabetes (condition in which the body does not use insulin normally and, therefore, cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood). Glimepiride lowers blood sugar by causing the pancreas to produce insulin (a natural substance that is needed to break down sugar in the body) and helping the body use insulin efficiently. This medication will only help lower blood sugar in people whose bodies produce insulin naturally

But Metformin makes you to lose weight, particularly the muscle mass, which is a serious side-effect. This muscle mass loss can never be regained, even if you are able to control the sugar level and stop Metformin.

controlling blood sugar is more important than maintaining muscle mass.

U can bear yr loss of muscles, but diabetes damages vital organs, without Metmorphin, so u hv to choose anyone.

Sir pls suggest as I asked should I take medicine or not as my hb1ac comes down naturally without any medication.

Wait for 3 months and recheck HbA1c.

Mr. Gangadharan Nair,

I always like yr correct replies and really appreciate them.

I hv experienced that diabetes can only be cured by medication, sugar levels go down only temporarily and then suddenly shoot up, very high, so Metmorphin is needed to cure diabetes.

HBA1c does not come down naturally.

you have done some drastic change in your diet, not mentioned in your question.

You need to take some concrete action to tackle your sugar levels. It cannot go untreated. There can be multiple options- See an Endocrinologist and follow his advice when it comes to medication. Second, you can try some alternative treatments like Ayurveda. Meet a good Ayurveda doctor and work out a regimen of medicine and diet. You can also combine your treatment with proper diet and exercises. Generally and Low Carbohydrate and High Good Fat diet helps in lowering blood sugar levels. Figure out what works for you in terms of diet. Also, your best shot at reversing diabetes is in the beginning of the disease itself. Put in your all your effort to get out of it.

my sugar level shown pre-diabetic in last year around 111 mg/dl at fasting. When i was in Mauritius in Apr-17 & gone for some dental treatment there, they checked sugar level first .It was found 20 mmol /L around 380 mg/dl & the doctor refused to do even gap filing between tooth's, which i have never experienced in India before having any treatments even before dental surgery time & all the time my dentist did the treatments including implants also without checking or asking about bsl. (Luckily by Gods grace i guess i might not be diabetic at that time) Then in last May 17 when i came back in india it was found hb1ac 11.6 around 280 mg/dl. I am living at Thane,Mumbai -Maharashtra.

Frankly speaking i didn't take any medicines & just stopped eating sweet items.Started taking tea without sugar, taken bitter Mellon & tomato juice in morning & at bed time for few days.Usually i woke up at 9 to 9.30 am.I do some cardiac exercises in gym at evening time 3 days in a week. But with strong thought i had assumed that i am not diabetic.I guess that is the only reason that in june it shows 126 mg/dl at fasting & 160 mg/dl at pp.

in sep 17 it comes hb1ac 7.9 Now as suggested by Gangadharan sir will check it again in December- 17.

I really don't want to take any medicines & would like to remove it naturally.

I said it was 11.6 in May but comes down to 7.9 in sep naturally without any medication

It is not naturally but after making diet changes by stopping sugar and sweets. Similarly if you reduce your carb intake by adjustuing your diet it can be further reduced. But such high level may damage vital organs. Suggest you see Doctor also besides ensuring diet adjustment and Exercise such as brisk walk for about 30 to 40 minutes every day

Mr. Gangadharan Nair Sir, I want your advice for me.

I was on medication Januvia 100 ( 1 tablet before breakfast) and Melmet SR 500 ( before dinner). On recent testing my fasting sugar was 135 & PP was 145 and HbA1C was 7.4. Doctor changed doses as Januvia 100 ( 1 tablet before breakfast) and Melmet SR 1000 ( before dinner). After changing medicine dose, I am feeling uneasiness / mild acidic/ irritation in the stomach. Also, some short of sensation in the leg muscle. Please advice.
