Weight gain

I am taking gemer 2 before breakfast since 6 months my sugar levels are ok . But I am gaining weight now .

What could be reason for weight gain.pleas suggest . I am taking restricted diet

Gemer 2 contains glimepiride and metformin.

Glimepiride is a 3rd generation of sulfonylurea. It forces the body to produce more insulin. This will cause strict glycemic control and frequent hypoglycemia. In order to prevent hypoglycemic episodes, some diabetic patients tend to consume more food and thereby causing weight gain. As far as metformin is concerned, it is neutral to weight gain.

Please also have thyroid checked t3&t4 also anti body tpo, if you're weight gain seems unnecessary then thyroid could also be a reason.
