I was recently diagnosed with sugar and my hba1c was 6.8. I'm 32 years old and my fbs is 110. My post meal blood sugar is 279. I have frequent urination and some diziness in the morning while walking. My doctor prescribed janumet and told for me to re-check for further management. Also, I have genetic metabolic syndrome. After having diabetes, I'm really feeling very low. Please guide for future precautions.

Your fast blood sugar is normal according to WHO standards. But the desirable sugar level is 100 mg/dL. Your postprandial bloood sugar (PPBS) is very high. Normally it should be less than 140 mg/dL. If there is excess sugar in the blood (> 200 mg/dL), the same will be excreted along with your urine. This should be prevented by lowering your blood sugar.
Do not consume food after 7:00 pm.
Eat less food at night because your body needs least energy during sleep.
Janumet tablet is a brand of medicine containing the active ingredient Sitagliptin (50 mg); Metformin hydrochloride (1000 mg).
Sitagliptin is used along with diet and exercise and sometimes with other medications to lower blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes (condition in which blood sugar is too high because the body does not produce or use insulin normally). Sitagliptin is in a class of medications called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors. It works by increasing the amounts of certain natural substances that lower blood sugar when it is high.
Metformin is used alone or with other medications, including insulin, to treat type 2 diabetes (condition in which the body does not use insulin normally and, therefore, cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood). Metformin is in a class of drugs called biguanides. Metformin helps to control the amount of glucose (sugar) in your blood. It decreases the amount of glucose you absorb from your food and the amount of glucose made by your liver. Metformin also increases your body's response to insulin, a natural substance that controls the amount of glucose in the blood.
Voglibose is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor used for lowering post-prandial blood glucose levels in people with diabetes mellitus. Voglibose delays the absorption of glucose thereby reducing the risk of macrovascular complications.
