I am 34 Male...got detected with T2D for last 6 months. Taking Metformin 1g (per day) for last 6 months and at present FBG level is 96 and HbbA1C is 6.2 % (came down from 8.4 % in last 6 months). My weight was reduced from 72 kg to 64 Kg in the first three months and for the last 6 months it is stabilizing at 64 Kg. But dosage of metformin are making me dry any and thin day by day and frequently having irresistible appetite.
I was wondering if I can reduce (make it half) the dose of metformin and check for few days. Any Suggestion ?
Is it good for me to try intermittant fasting ?
Thanks

If you reduce the present metformin dosage by half, there is a possibility to shoot up your blood sugar level. Otherwise you have to adopt strict carbohydrate diet with even more vigorous exercise. It is also desirable to check your blood sugar on a daily basis.
You can but keep a strict watch on your diet and bs values. Give some time to your body to settle with low dose of metformin. Bs may fluctuate for a few days.
