Can i get diabetes?

My father was type 2, my brother was too, i am the middle child could i still get diabetes? My older brother didn't get it.

yes.diabetes is also hereditory in some cases

Not necessarily,but diabetes is a heeiditary disorder .You have to be careful about some of it's triggers like obesity.inactive and disorderly life style and constantly higher stress levels.No reason why you cannot avoid it even if you carry the genes.

Stress is a known trigger for all psychosomatic disorders. In your case, you may or may not get diabetes. Getting stressed up can be managed to a large extent by being constantly aware of it. We know stress is harmful, so when you make it a habit to be aware of it, the mind subconsciouly tries to balance it. Try it. It is not difficult.

Physical exercises, breathing exercises, yoga, meditation and music are some of the stress busters within our reach.

something very interesting about hereditary nature of diabetes...

My mom got 3 sisters..and 5 brothers... all brothers got diabetes...but non of her sister got it..

On my father side father got 3 brothers and 3 sisters... all brothers got diabetes...non of sisters got it..

I got diabetes..but not my real sister...

now this is all surprising... all had same diet habits...almost same life style....

Mallory89 even then u can avoid or delay ....

It is said that at initial stage cause of elevated blood sugar in T2 is due to insulin resistance ..and to avoid your body getting insulin resistant..you need to follow low carb low GI food diet plan ...
