swelling on foot fingers

What can be the probable causes for this? I am diabetic from lat six years,as such blood suger is in control.I am observing some swelling on my foot fingers.What can be the reasons and whal all clinical lab tests I should undertake?

Check for your diabetes. Microvascular damage in D cause this but don't worry even if D is the cause you can get rid of it with idm. Consult your doctor.

Thumb infection, both hand and foot, is very common among diabetics. Go through Google. one of my friend ignored it and when it became serious , the doctor had to cut his foot thumb.
