There is one sweet shop in Sagar (Bundelkhand) that sells excellent Chironji ki Barfi laden with ghee. A perfect LCHF dessert if made with a non caloric sweetener.
I don't know at what rate they sell in cities but more than price effectiveness I have some not so fond memories of these garnishes in shrikhand because 50+% times I ended up getting a bad/ rancid chironji (खवट चारोळी). It would totally spoil the fun of the Shrikhand.
some people have the bad luck so just attribute it to the bad luck and leave it at that.
[Its true if one has bad luck not much can be done. But I say if someone is not destined for chironji but destined for almonds instead, then you decide if thats bad luck or good luck]
When Dattaji Shinde(Scindia) was about to be decapitated by Ahmed Shah Abdali at Panipat, he asked Dattaji - "Kyon Dattaji, aur ladenge?". To which Dattaji replied, "Jiyenge to aur bhi ladenge", and was promptly beheaded by enraged Abdali.
Was his name omitted because he was only a half brother of Mahadji? BTW, Mahadji and Dattaji must be turning in their graves seeing their present day descendants licking the feet of a firangi.
yes...real waris was Jayappa....but he got killed at panipat...and u know how???? very sad....he got dumped inside a hole created for waste material of slaughter of animals for food.
and took revenge of this... marathas attacked Rohilas....and even took out remains of najibudaulla from his grave....
slaughtered 25000 Pathans in one night on same buradi ghat.
'The main entry door to the garbhgriha is of silver that was originally part of the Somnath Temple. Ghaznavi carried it to Ghazni as part of his loot. Mohammad Shah Abdali brought it to Lahore. Mahadji Scindia during his sack of Lahore brought it to Ujjain and had it installed at the Gopal Mandir.'
Yes. The present Mahakaleshwar temple too was rebuilt by Ranoji, after being demolished by Iltutmish in 13th century.
The Maratha empire ushered revival of sorts of temples, e.g. the Konark Sun temple was discovered by Marathas during their expedition of Odisha. Construction of new temples and renovation of the existing ones across India by Ahilyabai is well known.
Malharrao Holkar had plans of demolishing the Gyanvapi mosque at Kashi, and rebuild the Vishweshwar temple at the same spot. But local Brahmins pleaded them to consolidate their power before attempting this.
When I visited the KAsHI when I was about 15 yrs old.....I visited mosque inside out....
U can find many old temple remain s inside temple...even one shringar gauri temple inside..
They open said temple once in year...Google shringar gauri KAsHI ..u will get all info
Hey...about gyan vapi...it's long story...I am on mobile.so can not type.... Tomorrow if u are interested I will tell you some interesting info about KAsHI and somnath...
I stand corrected. First heard of this story from Shri. Ninadrao Bedekar at the launch of a book on Panipat war, and hence the confusion. Is Shukratal same as Baradi Ghat?
